La I Edición del Fórum Internacional de Marcas de Lujo se celebrará en 2009 en la ciudad de Marbella. Es un evento en el que se encuentran trabajando el Ayuntamiento de Marbella (a través de su Concejalía de Turismo), el Centro de Iniciativas Turísticas de Marbella (CIT) y la empresa Globally, encargada de ir definiendo como se celebrará el acontecimiento.
Se pretende reunir en la ciudad marbellí a los directores generales y representantes de las casas comerciales de las marcas de lujo del que, de momento, no se pueden dar más detalles por estar preparándose en todos sus detalles.
La idea inicial es celebrar el Fórum Internacional de Marcas de Lujo con periodicidad anual y con sede permanente en Marbella, ya que, como se afirma desde el Centro de Iniciativas Turísticas de la ciudad costasoleña ninguna otra ciudad reúne los requisitos tan apropiados como la marbellí ni una concentración tan grande de marcas de lujo como la que se encuentran en Puerto Banús.
